The Rust Belt

For my first trip I chose Akron. It’s the biggest city in the area and close to me, so if this ended up being a bust, I wouldn’t have wasted much time.

My expectations were low, but it ended up being fun. I was only there for about an hour and a half before I had to leave for an eye appointment, and I could’ve easily kept going for a while, driving around looking for more spots. I’ll probably go back soon. Next time I’ll also remember my earbuds, though. The right music would’ve made this better.

The camera still surprises me. The photos come out sharp for something from 2010, but they still have that dated look I’m going for.

The hardest part was taking photos with people around. I feel out of place standing on a sidewalk pointing a camera at a random street. I probably look like a stalker, or worse, a tourist.
